This disease called COVID-19 fully means Coronavirus Disease in 2019. This is because it was first identified in 2019 in Wuhan, China. Since its identification in China, the disease has long spread to almost every part of the world and the United States of America is not exempted.

COVID-19 is an infectious disease that is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 and has spread to the US in January 2020. The disease causes respiratory illness and its symptoms are fever, cough, difficulty in breathing, high temperature, chills, sneezing. Some very severe cases show symptoms of loss of sense of smell and taste, chest tightening, organ failure, etc.

The first known case of the COVID-19 to be confirmed in the US was on 20th January 2020, in a 35years old returnee from Wuhan, China. This was confirmed five days after the return. The first case in the United States of America was confirmed on the 26th February, 2020.
